Trujillo is the capital of the department of Liberty, "Capital of Eternal Spring" and is the third largest city in Peru, due to its great economic and cultural importance; It has the most productive valleys of the country, which has allowed it to develop economically. The agricultural industry is the most important activity in this part of the country, highlighting the production of sugar cane, asparagus, and shoe factory. It is the largest producer of sugar cane and second in rice production in the country.

Among its main attractions you have to Chan Chan Citadel, the Plaza Mayor of Trujillo, the archaeological remains of the Temples of the Sun and Moon, and mansions, convents and colonial churches.
