Sevilla is located in the center of Andalucía, which itself is located on southern Spain. It is a pretty accessible city since its the only city in Spain that has a major port. The airport lies about 10km from the city. Sevilla's weather is extremely hot in the summer, so it is advisable to avoid this time of the year to visit; spring, on the contrary, has a likable warmth and the foliage is blooming, which will be an extremely pleasant sight. Winter is also a good time to visit.
Sevilla has an important mix of cultural heritages, which is considered as one of the greatest assets of the region. There are Roman and Arab relics and structures all around Sevilla which make an impressive scene because they lie in the same streets as Renaissance buildings. Sevilla has a wide array of landscapes which include prairies, mountains and urban scenery.
When visiting Sevilla, you must take into account that there are four major districts to visit.
Barrio de Santa Cruz: This district was built over an old jewish district. This is Sevilla's prettiest district, where narrow streets and quiet yards filled with flowers will give you plenty to look at as you stroll the innards of the city. In Santa Cruz you can find La Giralda, the City Hall, Sierpes street (Sevilla's most famous street) and many more places of interest.
Barrio de los Arenales: This is Sevilla's oldest district. Here you can find the Plaza de Toros, the Torre del Oro (where the Museo Marítimo resides) and the Cristóbal Colón Avenue.
Barrio de Triana: It is an old district located on the south-center of the city. You can find many small antique shops and high-level craftmanship. There are several bars and restaurants where you can taste fried fish like you've never tasted before. Christopher Columbus lived in the Monasterio de la Cartuja, which is located in this district.
Barrio de la Macarena: On the northern part of the city lies this district, where you can find several churches and baroque structures. Here is also the Parlamento de Andalucía.
